We have owned Gargarou Retreat for 3 years now.  We don’t live at Gargarou all year, we also have a house in Sussex, near the South coast of England.

Rachael has 2 children, Ed (17) and Becca (20), and Pete has a daughter, Anna (23). We have been partners for 8 years. Rachael is Programme Manager for Arts, Drama and Personal Development for  Community Education Lewisham, and Pete teaches self-development courses and workshops.

Before focusing on bring up her family, Rachael graduated in Ceramics at the Royal College and established herself as an exhibiting artist. It’s her intention to resume making her own work again in the near future.

Because of our commitments we balance our time between England and being at Gargarou. Pete is here for more than half the year, Rachael is able to be here less at the moment, but we envisage being here more over the coming years.

In 2005 and 2006 we also held some holistic workshop weeks, with dance, meditation and yoga. In 2008 or more likely 2009 we will be holding a series of creative arts workshops. It is our vision that Gargarou Retreat is a place where people come to renew their holistic well-being and creative inspiration.
