Kalamata Airport

The nearest airport is Kalamata,  less than 1 hour away by road. There are charter flights between May and October  from Gatwick, Manchester, Newcastle, East Midlands and Birmingham. Most flights leave and return on Sunday.  Fares range from £80 to £300 return. See Flights - Kalamata for details.

The journey from Athens airport to Gargarou by car takes about 5 - 6 hours.

KTEL coaches

You can get a comfortable air-conditioned coach from Athens to Kalamata for about17 Euros one way. You get a bus transfer from the airport to the central bus station in Athens (45 minutes), the journey from Athens takes 4 hours. See www.ktel.org for timetables.

Taxis

We can arrange a taxi  pick-up from Kalamata (35 - 40 Euros), or the local bus service from  kalamata to Koroni passes the airport and goes through Harokopio, the nearest  village to us.

Driving to Greece

If you want to drive there are ferries from Ancona in Italy across to Patras in the Peloponnese - see www.anek.gr.  The ferry journey takes about 20 hours and is the best option if you want to bring your own car. We can give you advice on several routes you can take from the UK. .Also, Ryan Air fly to Ancona which could make it an interesting alternative route from the UK.
