Kalamata Airport
The nearest airport is Kalamata, less than 1 hour away by road. There are charter flights between May and October from Gatwick and Manchester. Most flights leave on Sundays.

The journey from Athens airport to Gargarou by car takes about 5 hours.
KTEL coaches
You can get a comfortable air-conditioned coach from Athens to Kalamata for about17 Euros one way. You get a bus transfer from the airport to the central bus station in Athens (1 hour), the journey from Athens takes 4 hours. See www.ktel.org for timetables. There is a regular air-conditioned coach service between Kalamata and Koroni which passes through our local village, Harakopio.

Driving to Greece
If you want to drive there are ferries from Ancona in Italy across to Patras in the Peloponnese - see www.anek.gr. The ferry journey takes about 20 hours and is the best option if you want to bring your own car. We can give you advice on several routes you can take from the UK. .Also, Ryan Air fly to Ancona which could make it an interesting alternative route from the UK.
